Jackson Hotel is a high end small hotel corporation that caters to high-end vacationers in resort communities. With an unaffected hiring process the vision of Jackson Hotel has not been met. Michael Jackson’s method of hiring consist of his management team sending him names and possible hires. Several states such as, Aspen, Colorado; Orlando, Florida; Santa Fe, New Mexico; and Sea Island, Georgia, management must focus on recruiting the new faces of the organization.
The employees of the current hotel chain fit the model of Jackson Hotel, the ability to hand pick individuals for promotions could help Jackson make this expansion process easier, and more cost efficient. This process for Jackson can allow for a recruitment style that stays in house and can provide individuals with a promotion and change in location if interested. For example as indicated by Noe et.al., Monster.com has 90 million resumes on file, which allows for a business to gain interest from individuals who may not have heard of the opening in a previous situation (2013). I feel the process that Jackson Hotel chain would find the most success with would be a process in which interviews, situational interviews and work sample cases. The situational interview can have a flow in which experience-based and future oriented questions can be evaluated. The individual will answer questions and help the committee understand who they are and how they will contribute to the company. For Jackson Hotels and the important time of expansion this information can be vital for retention and success.
