In 2013, GSU introduced an Oracle Taleo Cloud Service to streamline the hiring process. This service starts with an online applicant submission process that sorts the applications into an online list of candidates that is retrieve university-wide. Each step is includes four action statuses: initial, intermediate, completion and rejection. During each step, the candidate’s status changes and eventually moves to completion, withdraw or not selected status.
In step 1, the recruiter will pre-screen all candidates’ resumes determine who meets the minimum qualifications for the position. If the format of applicant's resume is done a certain way, the system will bypass it and rank it as a not matching the minimum hiring standards, regardless of the applicant qualifications. The applicant will not receive a call for an interview and won’t learn anything about the status of their application. In addition, the recruiter sometimes is missing resumes that Taleo has ranked as not a match for the position so they don’t send them to the Hiring Manager.
