There is no surprise that technology will continue to advance, and affect the profession of human resources. For example, the approach of recruiting and retaining talent will soon develop.
Jeanne Meister, from Forbes, suggest that using an agile approach to recruiting and developing talent is more cost effective and improved the talent pool; additionally, “recruiters were able to deliver top talent to clients within 2 to 6 weeks versus an average of 10-15 weeks” (Meister, 2017). Also, HR professionals should prepare for a blended workforce. A blended workforce will consist of only full-time employees but part time, freelancers, contractors, and consultants. Meister suggests, “Forward-looking HR leaders should take action now to plan for a blended workforce and address issues such as; how do you on-board and integrate gig workers or what types of training can gig workers have access to?” (Meister, 2017).
