My journey began two years ago, when I moved to the United States after going through a lot of process and security checks and after waiting for almost five years finally my family and I made it to the United States. Coming to America affected my family and me with some good and in a bad ways, one of the good ways America has affected my family and me is we finally feel safe and we’re not afraid that we might get killed or bombed in any second, one of the worst ways is America an open country and it has a bad influence on some teenagers who might follow the wrong paths in life. Therefore, it was hard leaving her there for the unknown, we had no choice, but to leave and it was time to start dreaming again and hoping for a better life. The travelling day finally came it was time to say goodbye to the family members and relatives leaving them behind was one of the hardest situations in my life. It was the first time riding a plane as much it was scary it was exciting at the same time and the journey has begun. After 15 hours of flying, we finally made it to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York the airport was stunning a beautiful structure and very crowded and we had to stay in New York until our next flight to Houston. I always Imagined New York like in Hollywood movies the glam and Manhattan Street, but it wasn’t like that it was very cold and it looked normal and I was kind of disappointed because I expected more. However, next morning it was time to take the flight to Houston after four hours we arrived at George bush intercontinental airport therefore my brother and our case worker came to pick us up. My brother moved to America before us and it was the first time seeing him in three years.
The struggles, my family and I have faced in America and we discovered that life in the United States is much harder than we expected. The language barrier was one of the many difficulties we faced since
