My field work experience had started in the preschool and where I have done the majority of my observations thus far. In the preschool I was beginning to understand how the different of components of the preschool all had concepts of phycology through all aspects of the classroom. During my time I saw how Piaget’s stages of cognitive development, how students handled new information through various methods, and Vygotsky’s sociocultural perspective are incorporated through different sections of the classroom. The classroom was based that learning should not be a structured experience, but learning should be developed through play and exploration.…

J.J was a very happy baby and immediately took to me. When I first saw her she was laying down in her crib infatuated with her mobile that spun around above her. For the second part of the essay I will be discussing a P.E lesson that took place in the sports hall with a reception class (see appendix x for the full observation). The focus for my observation is to analysis what is happening during the learning experience and to refer to key frameworks and literature to support my ideas. Ms. Roberts had been covering for the class teacher and prior to this lesson she had been adopting a social constructivist approach to teaching. However, I observed her approach change for this lesson and she converted to more of a behaviorist style of teaching. I believe this is down to the children being taken out of their typical learning environment, it was only their second P.E lesson and they were all very excitable.…
