Early Childhood Education seems to be the major a lot of college students pursue in. However, being a teacher comes along with many duties and expectations. For example, teachers have to make lesson plans, go by their state’s standards, make sure every need of every child is met, and prepare each child for the next grade. Teachers are expected to perform to their highest abilities, be on time, and interact with the kids. Being a teacher is not all that simple like most people believe. In each school system, the teachers have to interact with other faculty members in group level meetings, faculty meetings, and planning time with the teachers in his or her specific grade level. The field of education and psychology can relate in many ways, such as being a teacher. The behavioral perspective is relevant to being a teacher. The typical daily routine of a teacher “relies heavily on quantitative methods, including testing and measurement, to enhance educational activities related to instructional design, classroom management, and assessment, which serve to facilitate learning processes in various educational settings” (Educational Psychology). Operant conditioning plays a key role daily in a teacher’s classroom. In early childhood education there has to be consequences whenever a child disobeys the rules, which happens often at this early stage in life.
