Cause and Effect of Water Pollution in India

Abstract
Water is one of the natural resources that human beings are polluting. Water pollution has become a huge problem in many countries today. Due to water pollution many new diseases have been developed over time which have affected the humans at a very high rate. India is one of the countries that has the most polluted water bodies compared to other countries. There are many reasons behind the cause of water pollution in India, but the mainly reason is due to the increasing growth of industry in the nation. With the help of science and technology the humans today have successfully achieved in increasing food production, product marketing, and inventions of new technologies. Having all these benefits are quite pleasing, but there is an old saying that with benefits there is always a downfall. The downfall in these advances is that the humans are polluting and destroying the natural resources surrounding them. Water pollution is one of the natural resources that have been contaminated due to the discard of various pollutants in the water bodies without receiving treatment to remove the harmful compounds. Water pollution does not only have an effect on the aquatic plants and animal, but it also has a huge impact on the humans and the ecosystem. Water pollution is one of the main problems in India. The industrial use water to cool down hot machinery, the water used to cool down, is then released in to the rivers with high water temperatures. This process is known as the thermal pollution. This high temperatures of water effects the aquatic life or puts them in a highly dangerous position. The changes to the water temperatures also have an effect on the oxygen levels in the water (Akbangia, 2010). To help prevent this type of water pollution, the industries or the factories should wait till the water cools before draining it out into the environment thereby decreasing the negative effect on th w aquatic life. Yes it may cause the industrial companies a lot more, but trying to save our natural resources is a very important thing to
