Anthony Great Post: A Case Study

Anthony great post. What makes a successful department is the diversity within the agency. I believe that this will make a department successful and helping them gain the confidence of the community and the employees within the department. Open and honest are the most important foundations of building a better work place. The departments must first be up front and honest with their employees and this will develop a better moral within the department. As you said the mid-level supervisor has the ability to lay the foundation for their shift, great way to put this.
As I mentioned in my post, “Agencies that back their employees often have less turn around on employees and become more attractive for future employees.”

Johann, Police agencies and any other company desire their organization to run efficiently in order to achieve its maximum outcome without chaos and uncertainty. I work for the Arkansas Department of Correction and we utilize a chain of command structure, in which the responsibilities are directly delegated to subordinates who are clearly aware of their role. Without this structure in place, we would have a maximum amount of disorganization, an utmost level of confusion, and a minimum amount of output. This could be extremely dangerous and even life threatening to staff and the inmates if information is not communicated up and down the chain of authority properly. Although our wardens have a bosses they report to (deputy directors who reports…

There is a bit of a power struggle that goes on when Rajneesh wants to get his own desk for the office and Sheldon refuses. The struggle begins with Rajneesh completely defying Sheldon and he goes out and buys this huge desk that is so big that Sheldon can barely push the door open. Then the battle ensues with each one trying to outwit the other as Sheldon tries to force Rajneesh to remove the desk and Rajneesh just digs his heels in deeper and deeper.…

As stated previously, we cannot become an effective organization without diversity or communication. Consequently, any organization must rely on their supervisors to employ this kind of environment. The problem with LOCOLA is that the supervisors are doing a poor job of communicating and promoting diversity. One of the things that the supervisors should do for their subordinates is to provide feedback and counseling sessions. This would offer the opportunity for the supervisor to get to know their people on a more personal level, as well as to give the subordinate the opportunity to provide feedback to the supervisor on things that they think could be better to help the communication in the organization as a whole, so that they can provide…
