Police agencies and any other company desire their organization to run efficiently in order to achieve its maximum outcome without chaos and uncertainty. I work for the Arkansas Department of Correction and we utilize a chain of command structure, in which the responsibilities are directly delegated to subordinates who are clearly aware of their role. Without this structure in place, we would have a maximum amount of disorganization, an utmost level of confusion, and a minimum amount of output.
