Marc Bekoff, a Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, stated, “Human beings are a part of the animal kingdom, not apart from it. The separation of ‘us’ and ‘them’ creates a false picture and is responsible for much suffering.” Animals deserve to live, not to suffer, because animals provide great benefits for us humans; different test methods utilized could replace the harm to animals. Preventing animals from being tested on, scientists need to come up with different test methods to not utilize animals in their experiments. Many scientists try to compromise with each other on finding unique test methods so they do not need to experiment with animals in cosmetic development. Since the 1800s, animal protection groups have had splendid relationships with the scientific community because it did the right thing. Even though the scientific community has developed gradually over the years, the community says that research performed on the healthy animals becomes permissible when the benefits outway the harm done (Hunnicutt 5). Having advantages, animals would not have the benefit because scientists take the credit for themselves.
