The first ad is by Budweiser and is titled “Born the Hard Way”. The appeals the advertisement uses is the Plain Folks Appeal, and the adventure appeal. The ad uses the plain folks appeal by representing the main character as a German immigrant who has just came to America and has been through heck and high waters the whole way. His ship started on fire, he cut open his face, his trip was anything but easy. Once he gets to St.Louis he is greeted with a beer at a bar he goes to and the immigrant introduces Budweiser beer to the man who had given him one. The struggles he goes through is an example of the plain folks appeal because it makes people relate him because of many people’s lives aren’t simple and perfect and they like to relate to someone who is like them. It also is an adventure appeal because of his extensive travels which is inspirational and may give the viewer the idea that if they drink Budweiser they will become more adventurous and run into more adventurous opportunities. The target audience is people who enjoy a person’s heritage and who have been through hard times, it is the common American middle class individual. I personally enjoyed the ad and liked how they appealed to heritage and people who had a in life which allowed increased connection to the …show more content…
In the ad, they used the personal, sensitivity, and social appeals. The creators of the ad compiled many images of people’s faces and put them together to meld them into one face which made everyone look equal which is part of the sensitivity appeal. Later, the ad also explained no matter who we are, who we love, what we worship, we are all equal and are all humans. I personally liked the ad because it showed so many people with backstories that nobody knows but them, and I enjoyed that it stressed that they are all humans.
