Adolf Hitler Hitler once said “To conquer a nation, First disarm its citizens” (To Conquer a Nation) Adolf Hitler greatly affected the history of persecuting Jews, started World War 2, and showed the world the negative effects of the Socialist party. Jews have been persecuted all through history. Hitler and the Nazis took persecution of the Jews. The first crucial action against Jewish and German was the Jewish community. Jews were blamed for all Germany’s troubles. Hitler presumed power of Jews in Germany. Jews were distinguished because of their beliefs and culture. Some believe Jews were in charge of killing Jesus. Jews were killed by the Christians in the Middle Ages. Some were killed during the Crusades and sometimes a whole Jewish community was put to death. Even after the middle ages Jews were still being persecuted and killed. The Nazis occupied 19 European countries during the second war. World War 2 started in 1939 and ended in 1945. In this time, Nazis and their collaborators were in charge of the deaths of 11 million to 14 million people; about 6 million of them were Jews. There was only 850,000 out of 66 million Germans that were in World War 2. Socialism established after 1918 as a counter-movement. Many of the conservatives in rule believed that Hitler could be ruled and dominated if he was liable for the head government.     Hitler had more followers when the Great Depression came to Germany in the 1930s. After the president died Hitler had taken over and started doing things his way. In 1933, the Nazis begin to take control and set laws that took away the human rights of Jewish people. Hitler violated the Treaty of Versailles many times. In 1936 he sent German troops to march into Rhineland, two years later he ordered them into Austria and wanted to annex it to German Reich, and in 1938 he threatened to invade Czechoslovakia. World War II began on September 1, 1939 after Hitler attacked Poland. During WWII Hitler, was arresting not only Jews but communists, Slavs, homosexuals, and mentally or physically disabled people. This was the beginning of the holocaust. Hitler started just by killing them in horrible ways but he wasn’t satisfied enough so he made death camps and concentration camps. They were forced to work under horrible conditions. Only a handful of prisoners survived, while others were dying from starvation, overwork, or one of the many diseases. If they were not capable of work anymore the guards would kill them. Auschwitz is the most known concentration camps. They would take a train there and the ones that could work would get stripped uniforms and a tattoo on their left arm of their registration number. They were forced to mine coal or work at factories that made supplies for the war. If they weren’t at camps they were in the ghettos. The ghettos are known as neighborhoods that are sealed off from everything else with tall fences or tall walls lined with barbed wire and guards. Usually the ghettos were overpopulated and unsanitary, it was a waited place for concentration camps. They would die in horrible was if they weren’t “useful” anymore.
