    is a nobody and she thinks that it is too good to be true so she keeps pausing to make the no that she might get a little bit better. In line three it says “Then there 's a pair of us”! She answers her own question automatically assuming the person is a nobody and she’s excited about it that! A little part of me thinks that she may be talking to herself but we’ll never know. The forth line says “Don’t tell! they 'd advertise - you know”! She warns them to not tell because she knows that if you that if they know they’ll look down upon them and it’ll become publicly known and frowned upon. She uses the explanation points because she’s excited and warning them at the same time. The dash after advertise shows us that she’s trying to make an emphasis on society not wanting anyone to be different and the dash is just a pause to let other person to process that critical element and it can also be looked as a way of mocking society because they everyone is the same. Dickinson knows that being different is not a bad thing but rather good and also needed in society because as a whole it is missing out on the diversity of views and intellectual thoughts. Overall the first stanza, Dickinson finds a another person just like her ( it may be her and she’s ecstatic about it but she is quick to let the other person know that society isn’t so welcoming to people like her and that she should hide.
