I M Nobody Who Are You Analysis

Emily Dickinson is well known for her unusual poems, however during her life she wasn’t famous till after she passed away when her family started to find 1000’s of her poems stuff in tiny spaces all around the house. Dickinson’s writing wasn’t well understood during her time, she had a uniqueness that was ahead of her time; she had an amazing use of symbols, capitalism, themes and tones in her writing which make reading her poems so intriguing. While growing up she wasn’t the average women, she had her own thoughts and beliefs which is something I love about her which brings me to one of my favorite poems by her: “I’m Nobody! Who are you?”
I 'm Nobody! Who are you?
Are you - Nobody - too?
Then there 's a pair of us!
Don’t tell! they 'd advertise

In my interpretation of this poem the first line states “I 'm Nobody! Who are you? She is saying that in society if you are normal you are a somebody, so since she is different she is a nobody. The N is capitalized to emphasize that she is different, but society doesn’t see that as a good thing but rather bad. She uses an explanation at the end of the sentence which makes me think that she is happy or proud of who she is. Then she’s asking “Who are you?” which is self-explanatory; but right after being asked the question, in line two the poem says “Are you-Nobody-too”? The dashes after you and nobody can be used as a pause to make it seem like she is almost hesitant to ask us or that she already assumes that the person is a nobody and she thinks that it is too good to be true so she keeps pausing to make the no that she might get a little bit better. In line three it says “Then there 's a pair of us”! She answers her own question automatically assuming the person is a nobody and she’s excited about it that! A little part of me thinks that she may be talking to herself but we’ll never know. The forth line says “Don’t tell! they 'd advertise - you know”! She warns them to not tell because she knows that if you that if

Hi Peeps, Today's Quote "The Good Missions Act spotlights the Good Deeds of the many Wonderful Grandparents who are involved with the lives of their Grandchildren-- bridging the gap and filling in the missing information of family values, History, solid work ethics, and God's Commandments with vigor, enlightenment, excitement and experience. This is hard to do for the disobedient and inexperienced Missing in Action Grandparents." ` Jon Barnes Missing in Action There are many reasons why people are missing in action on their assignments, but the scope of this is not to address the excuses; we are focusing on the Actions. The poem begins with a direct speech from the speaker establishing one specific day in time where one has an epiphany of what one’s purpose in life is. In the three next lines, a symbol is introduced as the “voices”. The “voices” represent other people, mainly those who are part of one’s life but are not beneficial to one’s personal growth. These three lines reveal the true intentions of those voices as they keep saying the wrong things and shifting one’s mind in a different direction. The next four lines utilizes metaphors to emphasize one’s perseverance.…

Emily Dickinson was a very bright person and also a very deep writer. Even though Dickinson never published her poetry and just wrote it on scrap paper it was wonderful writing. She could have been a very well known writer even though she is known she could have been very popular. I think that Dickinson may not have wanted all the attention and that is why she just wrote on paper and kept it to herself. One of my favorite poems is "Success Is Counted Sweetest", because it is a very true poem.…

She is breaking the fourth wall by enlisting a poem followed by an explanation. The poem, though, may still be interpreted differently making it a versatile text. Often people do not use poems as a mean of release or finding comfort but rather write them to express a common feeling. This poem, though, is almost like a colloquial expression of what it feels like to be caught in something unmanageable. It is not a sentiment but rather an assurance to any person feeling isolated in their own problems.…

Stanza 4 breaks away from the couple to talk about the rest of the townspeople when it is mentioned that “someones married their everyones” (13). This stanza tells the short tale of everybody else in the town, where they marry, laugh, cry, dance, sleep, wake, and eventually all die. “anyone” dies as well, soon followed by “noone” and the two are buried together. They decompose and become part of the earth by spring, implying they died in winter. The last stanza is similar to Stanza 2, where it mentions the women and men sowing and reaping.…

In Jess Scott’s, I’m Pretty, she questions “what's the whole point of being pretty on the outside when you’re so ugly on the inside?” The perpetuation of horrid personalities has increased in our society. Over the past couple of years, our mindset has changed from everyone to me. Instead of asking ourselves what I do for that person, we ask ourselves what can that person do for me? Human beings have always been internally focused, but I attribute the intensification of personal awareness and attention to the rise in social media and how we spend the majority of our day styling our lives to seem more interesting than they are.…
