The Zuni tribe’s history began before 2500 B.C. along the Zuni River in the northwestern corner of New Mexico (Zuni Indians, 2016). The Zuni were the first of the Pueblo tribes met by the Spaniards in 1540 (Weiser, 2014). The arrival of these intruders disrupted their established culture, land, and trading, and infestation of disease and violence to a very peaceful people (Weiser, 2014).
