An impulse purchase can be defined as an unplanned spur of the moment decision to buy a product or service right before the purchase is made . For example, 1800Flowers has created a Facebook storefront to get its name out to the 703 million active mobile users currently on Facebook . 1800Flowers offers its mobile customers the opportunity to purchase a more limited number of its normal website flower bouquets. The reason behind this more limited product offering is to make purchasing flower bouquets from a mobile device easier, with the hope that customers will do more impulse buying . In order for impulse buying to be successful, an ordering process that is quick and easy is necessary. Through its Facebook storefront, 1800Flowers offers a simple way to order flower bouquets on mobile devices. 1800Flowers allows its customers the opportunity to fill out a wish list in Facebook, containing the kinds of flowers they like; this wish list then goes into the news feeds of all of their Facebook friends. When an occasion comes up, like a birthday, the customers’ friends can easily go to the 1800Flowers storefront and purchase the flowers that the customer wanted, with just a few simple clicks .
