What Is April Fool's Day In Middle School

Decent Essays
Well, this wasn’t my class, but it was discussed a lot when it happened.

So, let’s drag ourselves back to middle school. April Fool’s Day was coming up, and the kids in another class decided to organize a prank for one of our teachers.

When April 1 arrived, they were ready. As she turned to write something on the board, one of the students ran silently out of the classroom. She didn’t notice when she turned back around.

Every time she turned around to write something on the board, another student or two would dart out of the classroom. Eventually, with about five kids left, she inquired as to what was going on.

I wasn’t there, so I’m not aware of the finer details of the story, but it was definitely entertaining to hear.

Usually after this was done, we would quietly walk in a single file line down the hallway to the playground. That day, however, it was different. When I opened my eyes, instead of an orderly line of kindergartners, there was one little boy chaotically jumping up and down. As red in the face as a tomato, he seemed to be getting antsier by the second. “Teacher!…

I was drowning out the world with the music playing through my phone, twirling the headphone cord around my finger. My hand brushed across the paper as I erased some pencil markings. I observed the text on the brightly lit screen of my chromebook, searching for the answers to the questions on my homework. I stared at the screen with a look of confusion on my face. Little did I know that the next few moments would put my hard work to some use.…

Joining a militia was one of the top things I never thought I’d do, and becoming Special Forces in that militia never made the list. Just when I thought I’d finally fallen asleep. The blazing light that fought to turn the milky white of my eyes to a black crispy crime. I raised my tingling hand that throbbed and as I gripped that white string and let my hand fall I returned to the cool dark. As I thought I had finally restored peace to the land a howling echo rang throughout the kingdom, and only then did I realize it was time to raise my aching body from its eternal slumber.…

It’s been a week since school started and I, Rei Oshiro have already passed my summer goal for how many pranks to do in a week and was so happy seeing all the happy faces look at her very disappointed as they were now soaked. Suddenly out of nowhere the sky turned a beautiful shade of twilight and everyone looked depressed, and someone in a really cool jester outfit showed up in front of Emily, Chloe, Lily, Kelsey, and April. He was holding a yellow orb that looked perfect for a prank, so I jumped off the balcony, onto the flagpole, and then jumped down passed the jester, grabbing the ball and landing on the ground perfectly. I looked at the girls and Mr. Joker. The girls looked surprised and also happy, while Mr. Joker looked really angry.…

While observing in Beth Johnston’s First Grade classroom at Eugene Field Elementary School, I have noticed some effective and ineffective classroom management practices that she uses while I have been in the classroom. One effective classroom management technique that I have observed is that Mrs. Johnston puts her student’s desks into groups of three or four. This is an effective technique because she puts her strong students with her not as strong students, which can help with the students who might need a little help staying on track with the lesson that they are supposed to get done. Also, Mrs. Johnston has changed the groups a couple of times since I have been observing in the classroom. This I believe is effective because the students…
