The Casa Rosada Chapter Summary

Improved Essays
April Hall just moved into the apartment complex known as the Casa Rosada, to live with her grandma. April is curious, so she goes to the local A-Z Antique Shop to check things out. While she is there, she meets the mysterious store owner known as the “Professor”. Then April returns back to the Casa Rosada after an interesting conversation with the “Professor”. While in the building, April meets a friendly girl named Melanie Ross. At first, things don’t go so well until they learn they both have a love of reading, creating stories, and most-of-all, reading about and creating stories pertaining to Egypt. One day the girls think that they need a place to make their game about Egypt come to life, a place just for them, and the local A-Z Antique …show more content…
As the game progresses, Egypt grows larger. They now have gods, a temple, and a new player, Elizabeth Chung. Elizabeth just moved into the Casa Rosada, and is shy, but compliments. Meanwhile the girls and Marshall were playing in Egypt when they hear Melanie’s mom calling her name. Her mom says that the kids are to return home now, but why? Mrs. Ross explains to them that they are not to go outside again because a girl Melanie and April’s age was recently found dead by an unknown killer, and she doesn’t want them to get hurt. Unfortunately, this disrupts the Egypt Game, and kids can’t stand it, they have to get back to Egypt somehow. April thinks of a plan to sneak out and go to Egypt on Halloween, but they don’t come and go that easily. They are followed by 2 kids in their class Toby and Ken who become part of the game. They have a good time, and eventually return back to trick-or-treating, but something is missing. Marshall forgot his favorite toy in Egypt on Halloween. How will he get it back? Will he get it …show more content…
I know that April is daring, but we still don’t know where or who the killer is, and they almost killed her, like the other little girl. I not only liked this part because of the suspense of what will happen, who will win, but that the “Professor” saves her from the killer. I like this because I didn’t expect the “Professor” to save her, because he was claimed as the most likely culprit, but he proved that he wasn’t the killer which isn’t what I expected. Personally, I would recommend this book to everyone who likes mystery, unexpected twists, and action. Like most books, this book starts off slow and lacking in excitement, but when you get to the climax and even the rising action, the action is intense. For example, when the kids are first told that they have to leave Egypt, you wonder why. And in the climax, something happens to one of the main characters. What will happen? Why? Who? It leaves you in suspense to keep you reading, which is one of the many reasons I would recommend this fascinating book to everyone who enjoys suspense, unexpected turns, and a climax full of
