She saw where she had started up ahead of her, where the mold needed smell wasn’t as terrible as it was before. When she came to the opening, she saw that the children that were not there with her to begin with were standing together and not running. Some were getting yelled at, but they didn’t say a word in response as if they were unable to speak, and Blur knew that they were.
There weren't very any children that decided not to run, but it was enough to be noticeable. Blur looked around her at the children who hadn’t noticed what was going on and were still moving, at how they moved along as if nothing happened at all. Maybe we could have a Nothing Day, he suggested.
I don’t think you are, he said. They told me that those days are canceled…
He thought again.
You know what? I’m going to come up with our own day. My daughter and I used to have these days when we had nothing to do, and they are not called Nothing Days. Let’s call them… Let’s call them lazy days. Yes. We’re not having a Nothing Day. We’re having a Lazy Day.
What are Lazy Days?
Well… That’ s a good question. You get to be lazy all day. You can’t go to the adult’s place because this is most definitely not a Nothing Day, but you can wander around here and talk to one another and not do work. You did enough work to last yourselves a lifetime, you know. Besides, it looks like no one else is around here to say that I can’t make up a day, so… Lazy Day! Go have fun.
The kids stood in their places looking very confused, but then they went to do what they were told to do, and that included Blur. She went to find Kathy, and when she saw her in her sights, she ran up to her quickly.
