Attending Waterbury Career Academy Waterbury Career Academy High School will help benefit me in my future success because it will help me to pursue my desired career, prepare me for college, and it will inspire me to do other things later in my life. I have had some experience with working with some machines and the safety requirements. My technology education teacher, Ms. Foulds, took a small group of students into the workshop and we used machines and learned specific safety requirements. She has also taught us great tips on computers and skills that I would take with me to college – such as finger placement when typing. In the future, I plan on becoming a civil engineer. Civil engineering is dealing with the design, construction, and maintenance of buildings, bridges, dams, canals and other types of structures. Designing a building can be drafted out on paper or on a specially designed computer program for these purposes. A group of students from your school came to Carrington and talked about what Waterbury Career Academy offers. They explained the strands you have and I became highly interested in engineering/manufacturing. The …show more content…
I may end up doing information technology or something else once I go through all the strands. Your school offers so many choices that it could cause me to do or attempt other things outside of what I like. Human services would be one. I always have hated science and biology. I never really have been interested in health. But maybe when I actually get a chance to try it in health services, I may have an interest growing for it. Same way as I attended work shop for the very first time and I now have become obsessed with wood. Not my fault; I just grew attached to it. Going to Waterbury Career Academy will inspire me to try new things due to the multiple choices
