The career center in Cerritos College can be one of the best resources we have to help students achieve success due to all the small sub-services. The career center has the job fair, interview skills, resume critique, family workshops, depression workshops, and other workshops that would help in advancing in our career. These workshops are vital for students to attend since they offer practice and experience on getting a job in the field you want and also help by providing more ways to pay for tuition. An example is the scholarship workshop that shows you what scholarship we can apply to help us get more money for our education. With this many types of services the Career center helps greatly with both getting hired after college and making …show more content…
It provides an introduction of what employers expect you to present in an interview and there are workshops that help you create your resume. It prepares you for interviews assigning a workshop that specializes in improving student interviewing skills by providing a worksheet that has frequently asked questions during applying. Getting a head start in completing your resume is important so that students have an advantage in getting into the job they want. The workshop reviews how professional a resume looks if presented to an employer and it also provides advice for improving your paper which increases the chances of getting hired when you apply for a job.
Getting a job is one of the main focuses of the career center which is why its named the career center since it helps students find careers. By helping you advance in getting a job, it also helps with getting experience at hunting for job since any experience is crucial when applying for employment.
