Aerospace Engineering Major Essay

When I am attending to college the major I plan to studying under is aerospace engineering. What is aerospace engineering you why ask well its major that is offered in some colleges that concentrates on a single area of the field, such as propulsion systems, flight mechanics, guidance and control systems, aerodynamics or robotics. The reason why I was inspired to choose this major is because I always wanted to become an engineer when I was a little and this was also the only engineering major that grabbed my attention from other engineering majors that are offered since I would be able to work with the US military on aircrafts and missiles. I stumbled upon this major when I was researching at my high school on what type of engineer that I wanted

From Apollo 11 to the Mars Pathfinder, space exploration has been a big event in the United States, as well as across the globe. Some would say that space companies have too much money given to them, which they believe is an issue. I believe the opposite. If space companies were given more financial aid, we would be much further than Mars right now. This has been an obstacle along with the issue of the competition here on earth between countries, and the hazardness of contamination.…

Whenever there is a major jump in technology, a strategic revolution often matches it. The industrial revolution and steam power completely swung the strategic advantage from the offensive to the defensive, evidenced through the Civil War. In the context of the Navy, one of the latest technological innovations is aviation; it was being integrated into the Navy before World War I, but wasn’t advanced enough to be of any major strategic use until World War II. For this reason, the strategic and tactical impact of aviation is most visible through the scope of World War II. With the advent of aviation and its integration into the Navy came a shift in naval strategy and tactics; this presented much strategic merit as well as logistic complications.…

Apparently, United had overbooked the flight, promising one of their “higher-ups” a seat on this particular flight.…

Having set a foundation of air traffic control and the risks fatigue in the industry, it is now important to qualify and quantify fatigue. Controller fatigue and, even simpler, human fatigue is very challenging to define given the number and complexity of variables and causal factors. Causal factors can include a lack of stimulation or boredom, disruptions to circadian rhythms, exhaustion due to physical and mental exertion. In simple terms, fatigue can simply be defined as weariness. According to Salazar (2007): ―Fatigue is a condition characterized by increased discomfort with lessened capacity for work, reduced efficiency of accomplishment, loss of power or capacity to respond to stimulation, and is usually accompanied by a feeling of weariness and tiredness.…

From this I have been able see how some parts work and get to watch the engine and imagine how it is pushing the massive airplane forward. Then when landing being able to see the flaps and most of the wing separate mechanically to different locations in order to slow down and land properly amused me and I think seeing that just added to my passion for airplanes and aviation. This has made me desire to attend flight school eventually to learn all about the principles and physics of flight. From what I have researched I would most likely attend Mountain City Aviation because the staff are friendly and educated it is close to where I live and I have heard of some great success stories from their training. I love to travel and in the future I hope to travel to many places or do some sort of missions work in different areas of the world.…
