Verizon's Advertisement Analysis

The advertisement I chose compares Verizon Wireless and AT&T. Verizon is benchmarking itself against AT&T. In the advertisement, Verizon states that it has five times more 3G coverage than AT&T. A map of the United States is also in the ad and it clearly shows that Verizon has better 3G coverage than AT&T. I believe Verizon chose this strategy because they are appealing to individuals who are looking for 3G coverage at all times. Lack of network coverage upsets nearly all individuals who purchases cell phones, and by showing, that they have better coverage than AT&T more consumers will sign up for Verizon. Another reason Verizon chose this strategy is AT&T is one of their key competitors and anytime they can show they are, better than them
