One of them was on October 2013 when my friend asked me to join his group on walking for cancer. I agreed right away since I knew he was part of the nonprofit volunteer group called Bridge of Health where they help children who suffer from cancer but their families do not have sufficient funds to cover their expenses. I did some more research for why people walk for cancer except bringing awareness. I found out that it also raises millions of dollars for cancer research and treatment. It was an honor to be part of the team who was doing a phenomenal job. Additionally, I am also a nonprofit volunteer group called Yerkrapah which means Keepers of the Country. The purpose of the organization is to help the families whose family member was injured, disabled, or killed during the war. We help them, with food, cloths, medical expenses, and many more. The organization now has a program that those family members who struggle and have a medical problem do not need to pay anything from seeing a doctor up to surgery expenses. This helps to ensure that even though they lost their loved one but there are still people who care and will take care of them. I am honored to receive a diploma for being a loyal group member for more than seven years. Hence, having an experience for doing a volunteer work for the community and helping those in need has prepared me for working with underserved
