According to the first article, Servant Leadership is based on the idea that the leaders who prioritize the needs of their followers rather than self is capable of motivating followership (LIDEN, WAYNE, CHENWEI & MEUSER, 2014). The Servant Leader builds relationships with the employees with humility. Followers are encouraged to performed better through organizational behavior developed from a Servant Leader. Servant Leadership creates a sense of community and is empowering to followers, helping them grow and succeed. Ethical behavior is encouraged when leaders put their subordinates first. A Servant Culture is created by the example of the leader. The values created by Servant Leadership promotes teamwork and a caring culture which enhances performance. …show more content…
The article examines two aspects of the Servant Leadership Theory. The results of the hieratical engagement study revealed that humble leaders had the greatest influence on their followers regardless of their hierarchy. Less humble leaders in a lower rank of hierarchy were still capable of success by using an Action-oriented Leadership Style. The greatest impact was found in the high ranked hierarchy leaders that possessed the humility virtue that strengthened the Action-oriented Style of Leadership.
