Many people have the fear of not doing well in sports. Many find it hard to cooperate with the people they play with. This problem happened because he or she feels less confidence, lack of motivation and commitment to do sports with a group of people. That’s why teamwork in sports is very important. You can win a game with talent, but teamwork and intelligence will give you the championship (Michael Jordan, 1994). This quote by NBA legend Michael Jordan, highlights the value of teamwork for the success of a team. The essence of teamwork is that everyone in the teamwork together and achieves a common goal. Not only does it improve the performance of the team, it also relate to some life lessons that help players throughout their life as they …show more content…
Everyone can learn to cooperate with their teammates, even with those they are not so attracted of. Working as team allows one to put all the differences aside, and focus on what's is beneficial for the team. If each and every member of the team is not involved, it will be impossible to succeed together as a team. Teamwork also gives the players a great opportunity to socialize with others and build relations; slowly they find someone with a common interest and love for the sport. The players learn to understand at the bigger picture and realize that individual players are less important than the team. Being a part of a team helps the players overcome their fear of speaking up and stepping up, as they are forced to interact with other teammates, who they might have never met or spoken to, before. Furthermore, being a part of a sports team helps everyone with friendships that can last for a lifetime. In short, players must understand the meaning of individualism. Individualism is when a player challenges their skills by themselves and be outstanding among other players. In every sport, individualism occurs when a superb player became more recognizable compare to other players due to its strength and skills. Players must keep in mind that this can be a positive impact, but a negative impact as well. On the positive side, players obtain motivation from the supporters and also send out inspirations to others and becoming their idol. But on the other hand, the negative impact is the unfairness among the team.
