Delusion of Violence With gun control becoming a growing issue in the United States and several cases of mass shootings such as the events surrounding the Sandy Hook Massacre (and many others), advertisement companies are voicing their opinion about gun control in the form of any and all media. The selected advertisement is presented by MomsDemandAction.org and has been published in several magazines both in physical print and electronic media. The advertisement shows two young children in a school setting, both holding an object the United States considers controversial. The young child on the left is holding a Nestle™ Kinder Egg Surprise, which has been legally banned in the United States since 1973 by the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Acts that restricted any food that contained a non-edible item within it. The other young child in the image is holding a large assault rifle, which every American has the right to own according to the second amendment of the United States Constitution. The text on the advertisement states, in large white and orange letters; “One child is holding something that’s been banned in America to protect them. Guess which one.” At the bottom of the picture the advertisement answers the question by saying that “We won’t sell Kinder chocolate eggs in interest of child safety. Why not assault weapons?” The advertisement leaves it to the viewers to critically think about and answer the bottom question regarding gun control over child safety. The…
