In this paper it will be talking about the cons of gun control. Some U.S. States have already adopted some of these gun control laws. This paper will be talking about the second amendment, firearms, home safety, and do gun control laws really control guns. Hopefully after you have read this you will be more educated, and can pick your side of the gun control debate. So keep reading and find out more about the gun control laws that the federal and some state governments want to enforce on U.S. Citizens.
Firearms are classified into three broad types handguns, rifles, and shotguns. Rifles and shotguns are both considered “long guns.” A semi-automatic weapon fires one bullet each time the user pulls the trigger, it also will eject the empty shell after it is fired, and will automatically load another round into the gun. A automatic (sometimes called a “machine gun”) will fire multiple bullets as long as you hold the trigger down. Gun control has been a topic in government law making for years, although recently gun control has been pushed harder than ever. The major incident that started the fuss was the Sandy Hook shooting. Since Sandy Hook, six states have expanded requirements for comprehensive background checks for the private sale of weapons, bringing the total to eighteen states that require criminal background checks on handguns.
