Going into my senior year, I never really thought about what exactly I wanted to do following college. As a double major in business management and marketing, I had a lot of companies and positions to choose from. I finally decided for this assignment that I wanted to be interviewed for a management consultant position. The companies I reached out to were The Boston Consulting Firm, Ernst & Young, and Deloitte. I knew a Monmouth alumni who worked at Ernst & Young so after I didn’t hear back from The Boston Consulting Firm and Deloitte, I reached out to him and scheduled a mock interview at Ernst & Young. I asked him if I could schedule the interview in the middle of the week around 1 or 2pm because when doing research, that’s the perfect time to have an interview. You don’t want to have one in the morning because the interviewer may be groggy. But on the other hand, you don’t want to do it right before the interviewer is scheduled to leave because he or she may rush the interview. To prepare for the interview I researched a lot about the company and learned that Ernst & Young is one of the “Big Four” auditing firms and is known for their professional services. The company has over 700 offices across the globe in over 150 countries. Even though Ernst & Young is known for its accounting and financing, the company provides consulting positions which is what I want to do as soon as I graduate if given the opportunity.
