Before the interview we chatted a bit about how I was doing in school and about the program. This was to avoid the questions from feeling to sudden or rushed. The person I decided to interview was Kristen McKenna, a registered nurse. I interviewed her over the phone since she resides in Maryland. I chose to interview her since she has the profession that resembled a physician assistant the most in comparison to others I could have contacted, plus I know her parents fairly well and knew I could easily get an interview with her. All of my contacts live in other states so unfortunately it was not possible for me to schedule a meeting with any of them. The specific questions I prepared were essentially the ones that were provided in the “Possible Questions to Ask During the Information Interview” section.…

Katelynn I completely agree with you. If I could have done informational interviews before when I was in school I believe it would have had a major impact on my career path. I will add to the points you touched on in your post, that informational interviews can also be to not only understand the job you are looking for, but once you narrow that down it can provide details on what is need and expected within that job. having someone in that job currently will allow you to find out if that job is indeed right for you. Great…

However, I also saw this misfortune as an opportunity to create even better questions and learn more from Margarita. So, my team set up another date with her in December in Orlando.…
