This means that this commercial is intended for everyone. I would even say children because of the childish unicorn and the use the ice cream throughout the entirety of the commercial. The use of the unicorn and ice cream lets the commercial be kid friendly, because it has all of the different colors in the mane and tail of the unicorn as well as the multi colors of the ice cream. It brings the attention of young children because of all the fairy tale creatures and all the different colors on the screen. By the children wanting to watch the commercial the parents will stop and watch it because of their children and this brings an even larger audience. As said earlier the commercial comes out and tells us what audience they are trying to reach literally everyone, yet they chose to have a very humorous children friendly commercial. One thing that this commercial really dives into to attract even more of an audience is humor. This commercial uses humor as a base of the whole thing it really dives into a primitive humor of basically poop and fart jokes. Humor works almost in every case, it's one of those things that is very easy do and is very effective depending on the audience you want to attract. In Squatty Potty’s case it is very easy to use humor because the product has to deal with feces and it is very easy to make that funny. I believe used to sell almost anything because it is very memorable and if one thing this commercial achieves it is being memorable. The reason I found this commercial is because my father said “ I saw this funny commercial at work the other day come look” if this commercial is funny enough to remember days later through important things such as work and home life, it achieved its goal of staying memorable and keeping an audience. The ethos appeal would be at the very end of the commercial when it list off all the credible sources that have backed up the product. Ethos is the means to convince the audience of the credibility of the product so in Squatty Potty’s case it would be when they list off all the sources and also all the fact throughout the entirety of the commercial. The reason Squatty Potty has to use this appeal is because it is making very outrageous claims by saying something people have been doing their entire life is wrong, most people are going to say “that’s crazy, no way I’m listening”.
