A child’s background, how they were treated and raised this factors into weather or not they will become aggressive or have violent thoughts. What they were taught what was right or wrong, their point of view and perception of society. Sure video games have simulated violence that might influence a child somehow, but is that really truly the reason? Have people just been too naive and not knowing everything about both sides. Studies have proven this to be the truth, but the media just won’t accept it to be the truth. They blame video games for school shootings and violent crimes because they’re too scared to blame it on mental stability and mental problems because they don’t want people mad at them for claiming that mental problems increase the chances of violence because the person doesn’t know how to cooperate under pressure causing them to do harm to others. Video Games Do Not Cause Violent Behavior Over the years there have been several incidents that have stirred up the emotions of people, parents and especially investigators. These incidents include the Sandy Hook Elementary Shooting, the Columbine Massacre, and the incident in Colorado where a man went on a shooting spree in an Aurora movie theater. There was one key thing that aroused people’s emotions connected by investigators to all three incidents: video games. This led to the belief that if the parents’ children play violent video games that the child will become violent. Even though people have been led to believe that video games cause people to become cruel and commit violent actions, video games do not cause people to commit acts of violence because they don 't have time to…

Although it seems like playing violent games might have caused these violent acts to be committed, violent video games are played by many others, but yet they have never carried out such violent crimes. Video games don’t seem to be the cause of these happenings because, evidence can’t support the claim that violent games are the cause of crimes like shootings, many people around the world play these games but only a few have chosen to commit a violent crime, and video games like these are not the only factor to violent behavior.…
