After the Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting, which ended the lives of twenty students and six teachers, reporter and media were quick to jump on the alleged rumor that the shooter played violent video games. A Nearby town, even rallied violent media such as CDs, DVDs and video games and had them burned. Although the rumor was proven false, people still fear what violence and video games will cause in people. Many psychologists are positive there is a link however, video games do not cause violence because crime rates have dropped during violent video game releases and factors that have been unaccounted for in people 's personalities have made previous data inconclusive.

Violent video games are more of an alternative to rough and tumble play where they could be physically aggressive. People often think that video games make people less detached from the world such as the 9/11 crisis, children wanted to draw pictures of the burning buildings and play games where you crash airplanes, of course, this worried parents, but what they don 't realize that 's just kids being kids, they’ll play with something to make it safe.
For the thousandth time video games have no negative effects on the brain, all long term effects have been positive. Media control what the mass population believes about video games. Long hours of game-play can cause uncomfortable life situations, though, such as tensions with family members. Which can lead to a number of things depending on the relationship and how they resolve conflicts.
It does factor in obesity and health problems, but that 's only with extreme indulgence. Video games actually have better results than puzzle games and such, which you think would help with

Another thing was that the review articles were basically just questions that linked video games and violence, these were washed out when other factors like mental state, family relations, and even self esteem were considered as well. The 12 longitude data only had 3 with any actual mentions to relationship and mental health, and two of those proved that they were caused because of the other factors and not video games.
The whole “Video games cause violence,” was always a weak topic, critics have never gotten a solid relationship between the two in the first place.
A researcher Christopher Ferguson went to do a more detailed approach on the matter and even founded that video games helped decrease violence, as if an outlet for frustrated teens and even adults. He found significant evidence of public bias.
