He can be okay while playing Football, Minecraft, and Animal Jam, but when he chooses to play killing games he tends to become disrespectful to everyone in the household. Although the media often associates video games with violence, this common stereotype is often defunct by the countless amount of educational games provided to children.
Not all video games can be looked down upon because they may be used as creatively. I have played many video games such as: the SIMS, and Dogz both these games let me live my desired future. The SIMS gave me the opportunity to use my creativity building and furnishing my own house. I also played Dogz which let me have my favorite dog and play and train them. Brought to my attention by Kylie Adkins, she states that “video games like ‘Minecraft’ allow children and adults to build and be creative.” (Adkins) Almost like a source of social media “they can be creative by themselves or with friends, while creating and maintaining friendships”(Adkins). “Video games have helped me develop the most

People have increased the violence in society by playing video games and believing they can do the same and get away with it. Ronald Bailey stated, “Basic theory linking media violence to real violence can be summarized as “monkey see/monkey do.” They believe media consumers have difficulty distinguishing between real and fictional mayhem.” “Reel violence leads to Real violence” (Bailey 1). ‘There is now growing reason to suspect that playing violent video games does not impact prosocial behavior in a normal population,’ concluded by researchers.” (Bailey 2) Violent video games are also ruining society by people thinking it is okay to kill in a game so why not kill in real life

One of the most mentioned issues regarding the debate around video games is that they heighten aggression. While some studies suggest an argument that violent video games cause increased violent behaviours, individuals, as well as some media outlets often, fail to see that this "heightened aggression" is often merely frustration at the game itself. One can easily picture the scene of an angered teenager screaming at the TV in their room due to a failed level, quest or mission or even the death of their character as if they were cut off whilst driving by a speeding heap of metal that narrowly misses their own. While many teens experience frustration in daily life and video games can serve as an outlet for that frustration or inadvertently amplify it, there is not a direct correlation between violent crime and playing violent video games - merely heightened aggression, such as moving less politely to get on a crowded train, or cutting someone off in traffic; were such a connection to exist the rate of violent crime should logically have skyrocketed since the advent of video games as popular media.…

However, I believe violent video games do not cause an increase in violence and the idea to regulate these games is caused by an exaggeration of the effects of violent video games. Others need to look more into this idea and find the benefits that these games can actually have.…
