Resurgent’s inbound logistics of the value chain include the purchasing of accounts, the data storage and protection related to all the accounts and their information, and inventory management. The company has to initially purchase the accounts, load the account data, and assign the accounts to different servicers. Obtaining new accounts is important, because if new business is not obtained, then there will eventually be no accounts to collect on, and thus the remainder of the chain comes to a halt. Once the accounts are purchased, the data for the accounts must be loaded into the database system(s), and all data must be verified, cleansed of data irregularities from the creditor where necessary, and compared against internal data for such things as whether the account has been or could have been included in a bankruptcy. …show more content…
During the entire process, Inventory Management will ensure that the accounts are properly placed with different agencies (internal or external) to provide the best profit margins with the least amount of risk. For instance, if an agency began collecting much larger sums than others, but it is found they are employing illegal practices, Resurgent would not want to be associated with that agency, and would inform that agency of changes required or else altogether sever that service contract. If we have 3 servicers performing similar tasks with similar accounts, and one is falling far behind the others in performance, Resurgent would either cease that service contract or reduce the amount of accounts placed with the agency until their performance is
