Rainy Day Toy design project is conducted through research and inspiration to determine its brand identity. The design project is made up of the logo design, presentation, and questionnaire. A logo’s purpose is to differentiate from other competitors. Also, the logo should show a unique quality or style that can accurately portray the business perspective (Airey, 2014). In the beginning stages of designing the logo, the logo has been designed for children ages 1-4. The design challenge was figuring out how to connect the vision of the brand to reach the intended audience without being too literal. The visual component, which applies to the brand presentation, has demonstrated the essence and the feel of the brand and its products. The goal was to make it effective that would give great information with less content. In other words, it should convey what the audience sees in a presentation to make a stronger impact than the words they hear (Rosenthal, 2010). The problem was trying to strategize information that would communicate the essence of the brand effectively. The ideas did not go into the direction that was needed to connect with the message. For example, the first logical idea had started with a storyboard. A storyboard should have the capabilities of creating a blueprint for the presentation as a whole. In fact, storyboards can narrate different ideas into a logical sequence. However, the storyboard idea was eliminated because it didn’t show the correct information that would best represent the vision of Rainy Day Toys. Creative failure can create new thoughts, perceptions, and possibilities (Robertson, 2016). Significantly, the next step was finding inspiration that would have the benefits of generating new ideas and reinterpreting what to visualize which has the capability to solve any design issues. The strategy was to start with 15 questions that would help gain insight and reliability to generate accurate responses from the respondents. The best strategic direction was finding obvious questions that only a respondent can answer and addresses one issue at a time (Collins, 2010). The solution was to re-evaluate Rainy Day Toys project and figure out valid findings that would help guide an effective response. In addition, every person has different opinions and desires on what they want and how they feel. In order to create an emotional connection, it was about finding what is most important and what is less important, which would help decipher whether the brand message and design were effective.
