Pros And Cons Of Scheduling Regular Safety Meetings

Decent Essays
When reviewing all of my simulations choices and my ending results the question is being was I successful in the end. Were my top 3 goals of scheduling regular safety meetings, get the turnover rate down and setting up an official training program met. In regards to scheduling regular safety meeting I feel as though I was not successful. Within the simulation, I don’t recall seeing or selecting anything dealing with safety meetings. The safety meetings were a big part of my goal for the company. Something I would do differently is funding into scheduling regular safety meetings. This is a very important part of the company. We have to insure the safety of the workers the incident for this could potentially cause a worker their life.

Critics of safe staffing guidelines argue that this will only increase their high operational costs. When you look at everything that will result from the guidelines it will show that safe staffing patterns can be very cost effective. High nursing turnover and the need to utilize agency or traveling nurses increase nursing costs. By keeping nurses satisfied, less stressed, and with the tools to adequately care for their patients those issues are nonexistent which places staffing costs back in budget. Safe staffing guidelines will improve performance, improve patient mortality rates, and decrease liability.…

The adjustments that I would make as a manager would be for Pam to try another way (without using more money), other than brochures such as: to call the list of senior executives and schedule meetings, power point presentations with statistics, so she could sell them the program and answer any questions about the senior executive leadership program; Pam should also send them emails with an option for comments to receive feedback from the senior executives. This will entice the senior executives to go to the training program. Pam should continue the program and run it at a loss, because 10 senior executives are enrolled in the program; 10 people are better than nothing, at least with 10 people the company will get some of the money back. Also the program starts in four weeks, which gives an open door for more people to register. Pam should make sure that the senior executives have the best experience so that they approve the training for the mid-level managers.…

Simulation has been used to educate healthcare professionals. The medical field has been enhanced, since additional training was implemented in the healthcare field. The staffs have to chance to practice their skills in a safe environment. Due to the fact, Medicare and Medicaid stop paying for patients who are been readmitted within 30 days periods, healthcare members need to find a solution to prevent unnecessary readmission. As for goal 1 (efficiency, productivity, deadlines), I maintained above-average productivity (+ 15 percent over the unit’s average) despite the transition to one-screen teleworking environment and a marked reduction in the number of FADO documents available for translation. No deadlines were missed. Also, I continued to be available for stand-by duty, both on weekdays and weekends, and readily volunteered to work overtime on all occasions when offered to do so by our coordination officer. With regard to goal 2 (team spirit), along with five other colleagues, I participated in the group tasked with coming up with activities to consolidate the team-spirit within the unit.
