Quality improvement is a process that is used to identify and resolve performance deficiences. (Sommer, 2013, pg18). I have been to several clinical training sites with each one having some type of quality improvement or safety measures. Most have volunteered to be surveyed by The Joint Commission and all of them have several safety initiatives in order to protect the patient and healthcare personnel.
