Continuous Quality Improvement is the process that confirm programs that are in place to systematically and intentionally improving services and increasing positive outcomes for the patient. This is a great way to get nursing involved in the process of improving the health care and helping them understand the great impact they have on the quality care given to the patients. I have been involved in many improvement in the past few years. One of my favored and I have to say I am proud of is starting a PICC team. We made real impact on patient length of stay, Central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSIs), patient satisfaction and damage related to infiltration of vesicant drugs.
