It is not sold in stores, but online and through television ordering. They feature mostly celebrities on their commercials, people who remind normal citizens nothing of themselves. The commercial either show the celebrities during an event where they had one or two pimples and used Proactiv that magically cleared them up, because “who needs pimples,” as Katy Perry in her very own feature. They also have one that the beautiful, Adam Levine is featured in. They use these celebrities as attention grabbers, and of course, who would not be into something that features their favorite singer, actress, or just someone who is extremely hot, like Adam. In some of their commercials, they show a person’s skin from the beginning, and in the end, sort of like a “Transformation Tuesday,” thing. They are nice and are actually really good products. Their commercials show their products being used by beautiful girls who add it to their already beautiful hair, only to make it more beautiful. Young girls see these commercials and they too want to be beautiful, and for their hair to be beautiful as well. For a long time, their commercials only showed off girls with sleek, long hair. Curls and kinks had not been seen in their commercials up until a year or two ago. This could honestly discourage a girl. They see this product being advertised and think this is the solution to their maybe short, frizzy, curly, or kinky hair. A younger girl may believe when she uses this product that her hair will be just like the girls’ in commercial. After they began advertising curls and kinks, which probably uplifted the girls, there was still discouragement. The curls were nothing like the ones we see every day. They were already beautiful, perfectly-coiled, shiny strands of hair, in which the Pantene only intensified this. So again, they go get this product, but their curls do not turn out like the ones on the television do, and once again, disappointment. Pantene uses the beautiful hair as a trick to grab our attention, and us girls are certainly pulled into the advertisement.
