During our vacation, we had just came back from school like a week ago and we needed to ride a plane to Florida. It was the most exciting occurrence in my life because I have never flew by plane before. We needed to leave our house around midnight to we could get to the airport just in time for our flight. We drove to the airport and it took 30 minutes because no-one was on the road at midnight. When we arrived at the airport, we went to department 1 so that we could board our plane. We were just about to miss it when the manager saw us and told the flight attendants to wait. We boarded our plane and I immediately fell asleep, for my dad told me it would be a 5 hour flight to Florida. I woke up the next morning and we were just landing. We needed to ride a taxi so we could get to the Florida Cruise Lines and we were early. We took a restroom break …show more content…
right after this trip and I thought it was too early to be planning now. We boarded the ship and it was huge. The first thing we did was set our stuff in our designated room and we ate lunch at the eloquent buffet. It was really stomach-filling and we decided to go swimming for a bit. I think it was the best day I had in a long time. I played with my friend, Carter, and we played basketball after swimming. The cruise was extremely fun and I really miss it, now that I think about it. I wish I could look back on it and actually appreciate that we went on the cruise. After the week cruise, we took a plane to Washington D.C. and we were all tired. We all wanted to go home, but hey, who hates extra vacation? We arrived at D.C. and decided to stay for a week, just like the cruise, except a bit better. We got to see national monuments, such as the Washington Monument and the White House. It was really amazing and my dad told us to savor the moment, for we may never come back again. I really enjoyed it and when we went home, I was really sad. I had so much fun, I will never forget that

The five hours drive in Pensacola was the longest five hours drive in all the traveling I’ve done. When my dad was driving to Pensacola I felt nervous doing to much thinking but my dad gave me encouragement saying just do me. My games in Pensacola were bad to me because I didn’t have any points, I think I’m the only one on my team who had zero points the whole weekend. I barely had any playing time even when I did a good job on both ends of the court. Most people say it’s not all about points but it is about points because how can you win with zero points it’s impossible.…

One of my roommates in college was gay. He confided in me about his sexual preference, knowing I’d respect his confidence. Back then, gay people were openly ridiculed and rejected and attacked. I wish I could say this was no longer true, but obviously I can’t. We’ve come a long way, but what happened in Orlando and the reaction to it provide harsh reminders of how people hate those who are different from them in some way.…

but I just kept myself busy. All the kids in the family would even play around and as we walked through the halls, we’d pretend to fall into the walls as the boat leaned that way, but a couple of the times weren’t faked. We got of at Cozumel first, I believe. The whole family went to a beach and played in the clear, blue ocean. The sand there is very different from that at Myrtle Beach, where I normally go.…

Visiting Florida taught me many skills on being independent, mentally, and how easy and fun it is just to be to yourself sometimes. It all started Christmas eve when I got home to find my presents from “Santa” there before we even went to bed.
