My grandpa woke me up early to help him get the eggs out of the coop. He told me to simply just walk in there, grab the eggs, and walk out. I wanted to tell him he was insane but, at my age, the word choice would’ve been atrocious. There sat one hen that would always stare at me as I walked by the coop. Walking inside felt like walking into a trap but I still went in. Grabbing the eggs myself felt great and I felt much better eating them scrambled or over easy. I also enjoyed just walking by and feeding the chickens too. A large bin, full of the feed, sat nearby and all I had to do was pour some into the coop. He had around 50 acres of land that he used for farming. When we got there, I asked how much of it was his. When he told me that he owned all of it, my mind started reeling at how he was able to take care of all that land. When I was there, he had green beans growing. I had asked if I was able to try some and he said that it would be dangerous since they weren’t even sprouting yet. After he explained how long it took for them to get ripe, he asked me to help him start watering them. Being a simple process, he drove a tractor with a hose and a sprinkler while I connected the hose to all of the taps he had and positioned the sprinkler to get the beans saturated. As soon as we finished the job, he mentioned they had fudge pops in the freezer and that just made me extensively happy that I helped him with his
