In the quote by Christopher Columbus he states “By prevailing over all obstacles and distractions, one may unfailingly arrive at his chosen goal or destination” I thought this quote pertained to me because I know this year there are going to be many obstacles in English class, but if I just push myself I know I can reach my goal. As a reader and writer, I believe that I have grown stronger over the years. In the past, I did not like reading at all I would try to get by with reading as little of the stories as possible in order to pass. I felt this way until this summer when I started to read the books for English.…

To tell about a life experience that will impact my education and drive me through my educational journey could be a simple statement of how I would want to better myself, be a stronger provider for my family or maybe even so I could impact lives through a new field of work. Since I was a young girl I have always done as I was told from my parents, get a job, graduate High School, go to college, grow up and get married and have children. I have done this with one exception; I never graduated.…

I take a lot of notes in most of my lectures so when I am studying for an exam I can see what topics the professor focused a lot on. This helps me see what main points I need to study and what minor points I can skim over. I used this skill on my last exam and it helped me get a better grade than I expected. Looking at the test questions for clues helps me understand what the question is focusing on so I can remember the exact topic and hopefully pick the correct answer.
