Her second strategy for maximizing instructional time would be their school planners where they write important reminders such as homework assignments, school events, quiz and test reminders. By using a planner students are more organized and they avoid asking the same repetitive questions such a “what is due tomorrow or next week” they can just simply find most of the answers to their repetitive questions on their planners. By avoiding repetitive questions it provides the teacher with more instructional time. Her third strategy for use of time would be that she always lets her students know how much time they have to do an activity or discuss something with their partners. For example, she uses visual aids and always makes sure to model what she expects from her students so they can all comprehend. Also, some of her students have a harder time with certain tasks such as test taking therefore she will provide those students with a shorter version of the test where she reminds them “it’s not about how many problems you can solve, it’s about you showing me what you can actually do”, so she modifies some tests or quizzes or shorter versions for those students. For group smaller groups, she likes to set up her students by academical level, she does not like to pair up one advanced students with a one student working below grade level because that would be like cheating out the advanced student, instead of pairing him up to be a tutor to the student with a low grade level she likes to challenge her advanced students with challenging activities while she focuses her attention to those students who need more help. For example, her students who need more help such as her IEP and 504 students can be placed in groups where they can receive help by the resource specialists who do a “pull in” instead of a “pull out” this allows students to be in the classroom and not miss out on the entire …show more content…
She also likes to use www.remind.com, where she sets out reminders for students and parents in order to improve communication. Lastly, she uses the student planners as a way to communicate and get the parents involve with their child’s assignment by having them signed the student’s planner daily.
