College the word that most high schoolers fear. I had grown up listening to horrible things that happens in college. The teachers are mean, nobody is going to help you or guide you, or you are alone once you start college were some pretty common things i hear from most middle and high school teachers. I’m sure they were just trying to scare us up to motivate us to the ou homeworks, study and be organized. Eventhough college doesn’t seem that hard, surely is not a piece of cake and that's why I have a formula or strategy that helps excel in. I came up with a strategy back in high school that got me through high school with a 3.8 GPA, and i’m still using in college. Using and agenda, managing wisely your time and ask for help if you need it is …show more content…
I always carry with me an agenda to keep track of school projects, homeworks, tests, etc.I started using agendas back in my freshman year of high school but never paid that much attention to them until the beginning of my senior year. That year I had many changes in lifestyle and one of them was getting a part-time job. At that point i had to work on the weekends and two to three days during weekdays. It does not seems as much, but having eight classes to take care of and an internship of twelve hours weekly ,trust me, it was not easy. I started to use the agenda one i notice how for one out of three classes I will forget a homework from. Since I started writing down my homework everything fell in place and my life became less stress. It got worst when i started college. I got super stressed and full of things to do and take care of. Once again, i chose to buy an agenda and it everything went perfect! I didn’t had that much time for myself or spending time with my family. I then decided to start doing daily To-Do lists and write down every important thought that came to mind. I loved that i did not missed any work meetings, any school responsibilities nor i forgot important things that had to do. A great way to get your homework done is by

I was 10 years old. I looked from the edge of the mat, unaware about the endeavor I was about to take the moment my foot touched that mat. I finally decided to walk on, like they had taught me by bowing, it was the first of a near million times I was going to do this. I was a white belt, at the best taekwondo centers in the area. All the kids, stood to the side eerily silent, waiting for instructions.…

The experience that I went through and that I would like to share was when I played golf in the beginning of the year. I was fine managing my schedule during the first week or two of school, but then I started getting more and more homework as the weeks went on. I had a hard time keeping up with my school work and playing golf. I practiced every day after school and I didn’t really have any time after school to do my homework. Playing golf took up basically all of my time because I played it 5-7 days a week between practicing with the school team or practicing with my golf instructor/coach.…

My graduate experience will be light years different then my undergraduate training. I chuckle just contemplating the technological difference alone. Back when I attended undergraduate school there wasn’t the internet, the LoudCloud, e-books, or personal laptop computers. We thought we were “hot stuff” because we progressed from the slide ruler to a state of the art Texas Interment graphing calculator. By the way google informed me that my particular calculator at that time was the first of its kind.…

Several challenges occurred during my college career. I worked throughout the majority of my education to pay for books and tuition. My parents helped with the costs of attending college as well as supporting me when my studies became difficult. The experience of being the first in my family to work towards a bachelors degree meant a lack of guidance and advice. I sought out the advice of an adviser who I have been working with for the past three years.…

I have not had any college-level writing classes previously. I am sure that I do some form of college-level writing within my job. While my ending document is acceptable it takes me a substantial amount of time to get to the final product. I would say my biggest struggle is with punctuation knowing where to put commas, semi-colons and colons at within the document. I believe two of my strengths that I could assist others with is, focus and conventions.…

The criteria needed to be considered be a good writer from an academic standpoint is a complex formula that for some comes naturally and for others is like navigating a nearly impossible labyrinth of methods, rules, and requirements. Many students including myself, struggle with these concepts. Even after having a background with college level English courses, both of which I was enrolled in at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA), the struggle continues. In my own experience, frustration has always easily mounted due to the fact that I have always struggled to become comfortable with the skills I already have. Adopting a new skill or concept seemed like a daunting task at the time.…

Not inly time management, but organizational skills was a major technique to learn as I went through my first semester.
