Personal Narrative Essay: Shopping At The Vans Shop

Improved Essays
It is Friday afternoon at 7:00 p.m and my family and I are getting ready to go shopping at the mall. We are all very excited to pick out a couple of things we really want. My brother has spent months looking at the goofy basketball shoes he wants on his phone. He saved just enough money to buy these shoes. I was also looking to buy a new pair of vans for going back to school to impress all of my friends. My sisters wanted whatever girls want (which I don’t really pay attention to). It is 7:45 p.m. and finally everyone is ready to go (mainly my sisters because the rest of the family always waits on them).
It is 8:15 p.m. and we reached our destination, the mall! My sisters went with my mom and my brother and I went with my dad to start shopping. We head to the Vans store to get my first ever pair of vans. I found a nice pair of black, canvas vans.I also found a pair of blue and black pair of canvas vans that I want as much as the black. The store only had the pair of black vans in

and we just notice that we need to leave and that it will close in five minutes! We dash into the elevator and run to the exit and try the door. It is locked! “We are trapped!” screamed my sisters. We check the time and it is 10:05 p.m. We barely missed it and we are stuck in the dark mall. My dad calms everyone down and we decide to look for a janitor or someone to let us out. We hear a faint whistle and feel a chill. We decide (well my dad did since we were all scared) to check it out. We walk slowly around the mall and bump into someone. “Monster,” we all screamed It was just a security guard! We explained to him that we spent to much time eating and that the door was closed. He introduced himself and said his name was George. He asked us if we had checked the other doors, but we hadn’t because we were scared. He led us to another door and it was also locked! Its 10:15 p.m. and all of our feet are tired from looking for a exit, and we still have had no luck finding

On a beautiful clear morning of February the 19th, my mom picked me up from my class at the University of West Georgia, then we went to Waffle House to have a nice breakfast. We left from Waffle House, proceeding down Maple Street, and turned onto South Street and immediately onto Kenner Street. We then turned onto on the merging lane on South Park Street (US Hwy 27) heading south, we immediately halted to a full stop as vehicles moved from the middle lane into the merging lane in front of us, but at that time there were no vehicles behind us. As we waited to enter traffic, a car suddenly struck us from behind which caused the car to jerk violently forward, causing my mother’s chest to hit the steering wheel, and our heads and bodies to whip forward and then back.…

So it started out as a normal school day and as we were coming back from lunch we all went to the restroom and only six of us got taken. As we were using the restroom Andrew Myers, Jahzara Mckinney, Kadance Gravely, Maddox Lyons, Hayden Elliott, Kaylie Hawks and myself were pulled into the sewers and through a pipe that somehow took us to a island. We were stranded there by ourselves the island was like a forest in a way it has tall redwood trees high grass like the jungle and a beautiful glossering pond. So as we were there we were all panicking then I just got really quiet. We went to bed and the next morning Hayden and Jahzara were fighting over food we had from killing Andrew we had a lot of food left over from yesterday but both Jahzara and Hayden wanted that same piece.…

An internship is normally a work task a student completes after a series of classes to gain a degree in a particular field they think they’ll love, whether they still love it after they’ve completed that journey is based upon a multitude of criteria. Luckily, I have found that I quite enjoy fashion and working in retail throughout this internship at Dress Barn. Occasionally students find that what they thought they were getting into, is actually completely different than what they expected. Especially when reading about a profession on paper versus seeing it up closer in real life. When I started college, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to study or achieve with my life.…

As a kid, I had no responsibilities other than school, and sometimes sports. I was fortunate enough to not have to do chores, or have a job at an early age. I essentially, could manage my time how I pleased; playing Xbox, baseball, being on my phone whenever, as long as I kept my grades up and wasn't in trouble. My parents gave me this privilege, because they knew what a well-behaved kid I was, and somehow trusted that my Dad’s work ethic would eventually just naturally rub off on me when the time was right. Although my experience sounds great, I felt empty, because I wasn't doing anything productive.…

The Trip to the Grocery Store I haven’t seen him in weeks or maybe even months, I thought as I glared across the small distance between where I was standing and my dad’s car. At the time I was under the illusion that my dad would be even slightly happy to see me, but no.…
