So it started out as a normal school day and as we were coming back from lunch we all went to the restroom and only six of us got taken. As we were using the restroom Andrew Myers, Jahzara Mckinney, Kadance Gravely, Maddox Lyons, Hayden Elliott, Kaylie Hawks and myself were pulled into the sewers and through a pipe that somehow took us to a island. We were stranded there by ourselves the island was like a forest in a way it has tall redwood trees high grass like the jungle and a beautiful glossering pond. So as we were there we were all panicking then I just got really quiet. We went to bed and the next morning Hayden and Jahzara were fighting over food we had from killing Andrew we had a lot of food left over from yesterday but both Jahzara and Hayden wanted that same piece. We had killed Andrew by holding him …show more content…
Then out of nowhere a giant Squirrel 10 ft tall 11 ft wide jumped off the cliff beside us and and to Hayden the squirrel’s butt was in Hayden’s face, the squirrel farted RIP Hayden. Then the squirrel was running towards my direction I moved out of the way and it ate Kadance I tried swimming back to school but a huge wave rushed me back to the island I left Kaylie behind I had forgotten about her she was in a cave crying I got her to come out of the cave and we built a trampoline out of the bones from the dead people and super stretchy leaves so we jumped on the trampoline and as we were in the air an airplane was flying by so I kicked Kaylie into the rudder and landed in a swimming pool and started to walk home I had killed Kaylie because I thought if they died then she as well should join them, I slept happily that night, in memory of Andrew Myers, Jahzara Mckinney, Hayden Elliott, Kadance Gravely, Maddox Lyons, Kaylie

This term I started out with what I thought was a pretty easy reading goal. My goal was to read at least two hours every week, not counting the time we read at the beginning of English. I read many articles, mostly things from Buzzfeed, and The Onion. I also started rereading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets when I was in school, outside of school I just finished reading A Separate Peace by John Knowles. Overall I don’t think I met my goal, because some weeks I wouldn’t read at all and other weeks I had read for probably fifteen hours or more, and I never had a very consistent reading schedule.…

Back in the rich neighborhood, back in the gang, back before everything changed. We rode up to Fall Creek, the neighborhood. After driving through the big, confusing, dark neighborhood at night we found a house with a black plaque that said, ‘Welcome to the Jameson’s’ Jacob, Tyler, Ra’shawn, Andrew, and I walked to the back of the gray house.…

My six word memoir was “Fought through the labyrinth of solitude” because I wasn’t really alone physically because I had my family but none of them understood me or I couldn’t show them I true self, like who I really am. It wasn’t really easy to do because I felt insecure even though I shouldn’t feel that way. I stayed true to myself and I kept that in mind and it gave me the strength to push through. So mentally I was me but outside I was a totally different person that everybody expected me to be but even though I had some faith that that would end someday.…

Journal Ed Welch talked about how our histories can impact us, particularly in dealing with conflict. God used this to help me see how I approach conflict as a gardener would his garden. I have a family member who approaches it more like a sword-yielding gladiator, and this has led to struggles. Realizing these differences has vastly improved our relationship. A dear friend of mine recently experienced a conflict with another individual.…

As I carry the weight of thousands, Wandering through the hellish landscape, My thoughts turned to what lied ahead, To what may not be tomorrow. From the depravity of humanity, From the thoughts that I can only muster, Brought upon a revelation that made me think, What man has made of man. From the streets decimated to ruins, To the savage folk finding their way, All I can do is pray, That one day the war will end. Armed men outfitted to kill, The gears of bloodshed know no end, Aiming for their arbitrary victory, But none stopping the tides of war.…

Growing up, I noticed, when approached with conflict, my sisters and my mother would often state that they did not want to talk about it or would simply leave the room. I now have a phrase for this: the exit response. For us, the exit response was always temporary. If the problem was serious, it would eventually be brought back up; if it wasn’t, then things usually got better on its own. While my dad is often the first to use the voice response, I have noticed that my dad often chooses the loyalty response, too.…
