I haven’t always known I wanted to do nursing. I actually thought for a long time that my calling was to become a Biomedical Engineer. Since a young age, I found passion in helping those in need but also a love for technological advances. I wanted to be a biomedical engineer to find innovative ways to help people. However, life circumstances guided me into becoming more hands-on and personal with those I wanted to aid. Being the eldest and coming from and immigrant family put me in the midst of becoming my family’s voice and assistant. The Director of Nursing found my eagerness to learn more of the nursing field compelling and quickly acquired me a transfer to the Sub-acute department. Upon my yearning to learn more material and exposure I decided to take an extra step and completed a phlebotomy certification course while finishing my prerequisites for Nursing. The final step in my journey came when a former Nurse to Fountain Valley Regional Hospital referred me for a position as Nursing Assistant for the Float Pool department. I met the most important individuals in Fountain Valley that served me as advisors on different nursing programs.
