At Women and Infants Hospital, I have had the privilege of working alongside multiple nurse practitioners in the OB/GYN clinic for almost a year now. Every day they inspire me to become a nurse practitioner, with the care, love, dedication, and enthusiasm with which they do their job. I have seen the level of responsibility and leadership it takes to embrace and to execute that role. They are mentors to medical residents and students, they care for OB and GYN patients on a daily basis, from short consult visits to conducting medical procedures. Attending a program with good credentials and success rates plays a major role in determining the level of education and preparation a student can receive. Boston College’s William F. Connell School of Nursing has demonstrated its ability to fully prepare students in nursing and advance nursing careers for many years. There are high success rates for students who complete the Direct Master’s Entry Program, with most students being able to pass their NCLEX-RN and Nurse Practitioner exams the first time. This demonstrates that the level of education, preparation, and knowledge each student receives through this program is unique and enables them to learn and succeed in their future careers. I am confident that this program will enable me to obtain the educational preparation necessary to achieve my career goal. I am sure that by graduation day I will be fully prepared and confident to embrace on my role as a pediatric nurse practitioner and begin using my knowledge in service to
