My father was an educator and education was highly valued at my house. As a student, I always had a love for learning and it was my desire to pass that on to others and experience the joy of making a difference. It is my belief that if a child can read, they can do anything! By teaching I feel I will be affecting the future. I believe that being a teacher is a calling of the mind and heart.

When things are perceived to be wrong with the education system, scapegoats have to be found to deflect the blame. Also, parents and their attitudes have changed. Now many parents start with the assumption that their children must be right, and therefore the teacher must be wrong. . Because of fear of litigation, the lack of desire to discipline counts against teachers, and they are perceived as being weak and shirking their jobs. The reality is that our country is guilty of becoming increasingly apathetic about education. As a rule, teachers are undervalued; their significance is continually diminished and their contributions are highly underrated. I don’t know how to solve the problem of the lack of respect in our country. But I can teach respect in my classroom by showing respect to my students and expecting it from them. Schools may offer a student less assistance and monitoring with Section 504 because there are fewer regulations by the federal government to instruct them. In contrast, a child identified for services under IDEA must meet specific criteria. This is more specific in terms of time, parental participation, and paperwork requirements
Parents or eligible students have the right to inspect and review the student 's education records maintained by the school. Parents or eligible students have the right to request that a school correct records which they believe to be inaccurate or misleading.
